“They must know it was the rats; the slithering, scurrying rats whose scampering will never let me sleep; the daemon rats that race behind the padding in this room and beckon me down to greater horrors than I have ever known; the rats they can never hear; the rats, the rats in the walls.”
For the first annual Halloween edition of Spool’s Out radio, we called upon one of our favourite musicians in existence, Joseph Curwen, to create something for us inspired by HP Lovecraft. Newcastle’s finest musical hauntologist delivered us this blinding 60 minute set of creepy ambience, crackling noises and ghostly beats, all crafted around a recording of the artist reading aloud Lovecraft’s “The Rats in the Walls“. Infinite thanks to Joseph Curwen. Get thee immediately to josephcurwen.bandcamp.com!! Happy halloween!
